First Posting of FR Business Blog

After attending the PETE & C Conference this week in Hershey, PA I decided that its time to start a blog for our Business Dept. I have toyed with blogs a few times but have never really stuck with it. My goal is to stick with this one. I plan to provide department information here, personal thoughts about current events, allow my department mate, Mr. Daignault to sound off and just basically try to bring more students and community members to this blog to allow them some insight into the FR Business Technology Department.
More people need to be exposed to Web 2.0 tools such as blogs and I am going to take it upon myself to do this.
Hopefully I can make this blog creative and enjoyable for a diverse audience.

Mr. Crider,
Great job getting the business department a blog. Like you said, it's definitely crucial to be proactive in promoting use of web tools. Perhaps, just maybe, if you are 'proactive' enough, our school board will recognize the importance of going on truly educational field trips instead of horse races and amusement parks. Oh, skiing also. That's really really important in providing an educational environment. Maybe you should get a 13 member committee to analyze the prospects of a blog, like the new turf has! Wouldn't that be great?!?!?!

Great job though!

First, I would like to thank you for being the first person to post to my blog.
Second, hopefully you have gained some insight into the bureaucracy of school districts and businesses. It is very difficult to get things done using the old model of organization and leadership style. Systems thinking is the new way to run an organization. Look into it.
Thirdly, including all stakeholders in the way to go when making major decisions. It does take strong leadership to organize, plan and run the meetings for things such as the turf committee. It will be interesting to see what comes out of this committee.
